Basic Invite generously provided free holiday cards for this review. All opinions are my own.
Like it or not, the holidays will be here before we know it! I definitely fall into the camp of Christmas fanatic, so I love being able to check items off of my list as early in the season as possible in order to fully enjoy the holidays. This includes shopping for gifts, prepping for Christmas parties, and holiday cards. There are many options nowadays for holiday party invitations and photo Christmas cards, but after creating this year’s card at Basic Invite, their system is hands-down my favorite.
Most sites have plenty of designs to pick from (and Basic Invite is no different with over 250 holiday card designs), but there is always one little thing that I wish I could change. Whether it be a font selection or color used in the card, I usually find myself wishing I could tweak something to make it my own. Basic Invite allows you to do just that and more. They offer nearly unlimited color options (180, to be exact!) and you can preview the change instantly online. It’s not just one color swap, either. You can change the color of almost every little detail to your liking!
The colors on the left are the standard design options. The colors on the right are what I ended up with for our card (I slightly changed the red and green colors). How cool that you can make tweaks that subtle and custom?! Look how many options they have just in the green family!
For a design lover like myself, the multitude of color options was very exciting. However, Basic Invite also has tons of fonts, too! You can customize your invites and cards with beautiful typography. I’m not talking Arial, either. Basic Invite offers unique fonts from swirly calligraphy to modern sans serif. I really liked most of the fonts on the card I selected, but wasn't crazy about the script. Below on the left is the original, and on the right the font option I changed it to.
I lost track of time previewing the fonts on the card because it was so hard to pick a favorite! Check out some of these gorgeous options below. You can see how you can also customize text, size, line height, alignment, and position on the card.
A lot of times the envelope can be more of an afterthought, but not at Basic Invite. :) Impress your recipients before your card is even opened with tons of customization options. You can pick from 40 different colors including options like gold foil lined and onyx shimmer. <3 They also make it really easy on you, too, by having peel and seal closure - no tongue paper cuts, hooray!
But here is my favorite thing. Basic Invite offers FREE return + recipient address printing on Christmas card orders! Simply copy and paste your contacts into their address box and they do the hard work for you. Or even better, share a link on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or any other social media and have your friends and family send their addresses. These will be stored in the your account for easy access when you go to design and order your cards. No more trying (and failing) to align address labels in your printer and smeared ink; they arrive ready to go!
I can't recommend Basic Invite enough for all of your holiday card and Christmas party invitation needs. They have tons of customization options and stunning designs. I'm especially fond of their holiday foil card collection that offers gold, silver, and rose gold (!!!) details in either flat or raised foil. Are you nervous to commit before seeing the card first? Basic Invite allows you to order a sample of your actual card/invitation so that you can see the colors and feel the paper before placing the entire order.
